Director Daisy MacLean’s music video takes home two prestigious broadcasting awards

“VANITY MAGAZINE” WINS TWICE AT THE TELLY AWARDS

Director Daisy MacLean’s music video takes home two prestigious broadcasting awards

before Much even airs it!

TORONTO – June 15 2010 - A Music Video produced by Between Worlds Entertainment and Directed by Daisy MacLean has been awarded A Silver Telly Award, the highest honour in the Music Video Category, and A Bronze Outstanding Achievement in The People's Telly Awards Presented by YouTube®. The music video was for the song 'Vanity Magazine' by all-girl punk band, Fidget, which was produced over a period of three days by Daisy MacLean and Jessica Carter, and shot by nationally award winning cinematographer Steven Chandler-Whitehead, with Art Direction by Maggy Monceaux and costumes by renowned designer Christine Holdham.

“It is a tremendous honour to have our work recognised by such a prestigious award. I had an outstanding team whose skilled contributions shine in every aspect of the production. To have our work recognised along side industry giants such as HBO, NBC, Microsoft and Universal is very thrilling. We are delighted for our team and the band, Fidget.” –Daisy MacLean, CEO of Between Worlds Entertainment and Director of “Vanity Magazine”

The video was released online in November 2009, but was held back from being delivered to broadcasters until the band could release the single on itunes, a goal that was delayed due to some controversy with a distributer over the single’s artwork. The band plans to deliver the music video later this month to Much Music in Canada, as well as other prime American and British music broadcasters.

Wes "Maestro" Williams Encourages Readers to "Stick To Your Vision"

Wes "Maestro" Williams Encourages Readers to "Stick To Your Vision"

Iconic Canadian Rapper/Actor Releases Motivational Book for Readers of All Ages

(Toronto)  For young adults and people who want help achieving their goals, advice from Wes "Maestro" Williams, based on his life experiences as the "Godfather of Canadian Hip-Hop" will guide them on the right path.  An iconic legend in Canadian hip-hop, and dedicated actor, Wes draws from personal experiences to motivate and inspire the reader.  Sharing the same title as one of his hit singles, "Stick to Your Vision" demonstrates to readers of all ages how to overcome personal hurdles to make the seemingly impossible, possible.

As someone who has experienced the highs and lows that come with being a performer, Wes "Maestro" Williams has had to overcome many challenges in his life. These are also the same challenges that apply to everyone, and Wes's practical and empowering strategies will help readers to get there. In Stick to Your Vision, Wes demonstrates how to define vision, how to achieve it, and what to do once it's been achieved. He offers useful tips and advice, as well as inspirational stories and quotes, and exercises that will keep readers moving towards reaching their goals, and making dreams into a reality.

Co-written by Tamara Hendricks-Williams, and featuring testimonials from the likes of TV Host/Commentator George Stroumboulopolous and Director Little X, to artists such as Drake and Esthero, Wes' book exemplifies how the life lessons and advice garnered from the book can apply to readers of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and experiences. As stated in the book's forward from Public Enemy's legendary frontman, Chuck D: "MAESTRO has held his own as the KING of MCs in Canadian Hip-Hop History. He is the Alpha paving the road as originator for some other household northern MCS to follow...It is also key to stay true to the roots of the game as well as the Black-Caribbean culture that has figured strongly in its energy. Dignity and Respect come with that blend, something that's usually passed over by American MC's. The Canadian MC does not ever go backward, it's not in their DNA."
